Last year, Philip Himberg, Producing Artistic Director of our Theatre Program, wrote to the artists in residence that:

"...Ucross exists because playwrights and composers asked us for an environment where projects early in their creative journeys could simmer and stew. But Ucross is more than just geography. It is an arts institution driven by the belief that artists are powerful agents, that they effect change in our world; that art, and the truth art mirrors, is perhaps more vital to our world's survival than ever before."
